The Worship Leader is a part-time position tasked with the preparation of leading a weekly Worship service that connects with the elderly and younger generation.  Our worship service proclaims the uncompromised Gospel of Jesus Christ.  

The Praise and Worship leader is to work in cooperation with pastor, musician, and worshiper leader.  The selections should include a healthy mix of tradition/contemporary worship music.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning our weekly Sunday 10:30 am worship service choosing congregational hymns and songs that engage the congregation and support the scripture reading, and preaching of God’s Word.
• Modeling and leading in an invitational style of worship that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.
• Building on our traditions and having a vision for where God might be calling our congregation to grow in new expressions of worship.
• Arrive early and be prepared for worship service. Prior to Sunday, if you are unable to attend worship, contact Char Dillon (630) 897-3341 or charlotteadillon@gmail.com, at least three days in advance.
• Contact the church musician in regards to musical selections no later than Thursday prior to Sunday Worship.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Must be a worshipper and demonstrate a lifestyle committed to Christ.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of multiple genres/expressions of worship music.
• Function with wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Must possess a gentle and humble Spirit and be willing to grow.

COMPENSATION:

• This is a part-time position.
• Pay will be commensurate with qualifications.
• Our Service last no more than 1 & ½ hours.
• If we decide to have musical events around the Easter and Christmas season, you will be compensated extra.
